Kimeang was born in 1991 in Kampong province and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Royal University of Fine Arts in 2018. While studying, he was invited to participate in an exhibition at the Tuol Sleng Genocide museum. His work imagined the Pol Pot split as people returned to Phnom Penh. He then participated in an exhibition at a café with some professors under the theme of “students’ work, using drawing techniques to create a picture on a piece of paper. The following year, Kimeang participated in an exhibition on a cruise ship in Phnom Penh with the theme of “Tourism in Cambodia, presenting oil paintings of Cambodian landscapes. In 2020, he participated in an exhibition at “Cafe 51”, which was wildlife themed.
